Central Sydney GP Network’s (CSGPN) purpose is to advocate and represent for quality general practice as central to patient care.
CSGPN is a not-for-profit public company limited by guarantee and has deductible gift recipient (DGR) status. The Gift Fund has supported local health and community projects in the past.

CSGPN has a governance structure where four directors are elected by ordinary members to be on the Board and it derives its income exclusively from membership fees and has no external funding from the Australian Government.

CSGPN is one of seven corporate members of Central and Eastern Sydney PHN (CESPHN). It has an important role in continuing its support of and advocacy for general practices in the CSGPN area to make sure that the programs within the PHN remain relevant to CSGPN and its members.

Gift Fund

CSGPN donation funds are currently supporting the following projects:

Drug and alcohol addiction awareness program for volunteers.
Cana Communities works in inner Sydney running overnight shelters and homes. Their primary purpose is to provide relief from poverty, suffering, destitution and helplessness to people living with mental illness, addiction, homelessness, loneliness and other factors that alienate them from society

Funding from CSGPN will enable CANA to design and deliver workshops to around 160-200 people (around 50-60% of their volunteer base). The impact of this program will enable better care of more vulnerable inner-city people and will help develop confidence amongst the volunteers, who at times struggle with how to manage the complex needs of someone in addiction.

Self-care for Carers Program
An eight week course for women carers in the Inner West addresses the stressors carers can experience and provides take-home techniques to manage stress, preserve energy and maintain mental and physical wellbeing.

Participants will learn

  • Mindfulness techniques
  • Communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Low cost, nutritious recipes for energy and wellbeing
  • Healthy alternatives to alcohol and drugs
  • Easy exercise movements
  • Referrals to GPs, allied health and social/community supports in the Inner West

The Central Sydney GP Network (CSGPN) Board consists of four directors elected by Ordinary Members of CSGPN, and up to two persons appointed by the Elected Directors.

The Board for 2017 consists of the following Elected directors:
